Nicole Hilton – President. Nicole is the Business Development Officer for Maleny Credit Union and loves her job. It allows Nicole to contribute to our community on many levels which is her passion. As President for the Chamber and working on the Tourism Sub-committee this year, Nicole has developed some great initiatives. Watch this space. She enjoys working with such proactive volunteers that want to make a difference not only to our local businesses but our community in general. Her motto is “one person can have a good idea but many can make that idea great.

Spencer Shaw – Vice President. Spencer is co-founder of Brush Turkey Enterprises one of South East Queensland’s leading ecological restoration companies. BTE has a diverse portfolio of products and services from native plants, educational services, consultancy and contracting. Diversity and forward planning are the great strengths of the business, which has allowed adaptation and continuity over the last 2 decades. Spencer has lived in Maleny for over twenty-five years and represented his community in numerous groups including Barung Landcare, Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve Advisory Panel, Australian Association of Bush Regenerators and of course Maleny Commerce.

Jennepher Bucher – Treasurer. Jenn’s main day role is Business Manager in her family’s business, Maleny Cheese. After completing her business degree in Accounting & Financial Planning she is happy to still call Maleny home for just over 16 years now. Jenn enjoys volunteering her spare time in the community to the groups such as Slow Food, FAN (food & agribusiness network) Events Committee and most recently Hinterland Tourism. Enjoying fresh, local food and bringing people up to our beautiful part of the world is what she is most passionate about. Jenn is excited to be part of the tourism subcommittee in 2018-19 and work together with local businesses & events to give our tourists and locals a unique experience.

Melissa Chaddock – Secretary. Melissa Chaddock combines her favourite place to live with the career she has long wanted, joining the RE/MAX Hinterland team in 2017. As a qualified Real Estate Agent, Melissa only wanted to work in the Hinterland market where she has lived for the past 12 years. With ​international experience across a number of private and government sectors, Melissa enjoys working with people. She brings with her a strong sales and business development background, and a passion for real estate​. Demonstrating an ongoing commitment to our local hinterland communities, Melissa and RE/MAX Hinterland proudly provide sponsorship and support to many of our local schools, businesses, and associated community groups.

Karen Shaw – Committee Member. Karen has been involved in our local community in various roles-teacher at Maleny Primary & the River School, committee member at Barung Landcare, Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve management committee and part of the organising group for events like the Maleny Street Christmas Carnival. She works, with Spencer, in their two native plant nurseries and delivers environmental education to both children and adults. Karen has been a member of the Maleny chamber for six years as secretary. Projects delivered with the chamber include the 2nd & 3rd edition of the Maleny Tourist Map, events and Christmas Carnival and the Heritage Building Signage project.

Lea Parkes – Committee Member. Lea has been the Managing Editor of Glasshouse Country & Maleny News since 2004, and during that time she has worked closely with hundreds of local businesses, community, sports, and special interest groups to bring together the weekly news from our area, over the 14 years her team has dramatically improved the quality of the publication and almost doubled the distribution area. Since taking on the ownership of the business Lea has been part of the committees of Glasshouse Country Chambers of Commerce, and for the past two years with Maleny Commerce, which she believes is important as it helps her to understand the business needs and concerns of our local communities.

Heather Andrews – Committee Member. Heather is the owner of The Orangery Maleny and is passionate about food and her community. Born In Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) and having lived in several countries she has now made Maleny her home. She loves the wonderful community spirit here in Maleny so similar to where she was brought up. Heather has served on a chamber of commerce and retailers association in England for many years and worked as the event coordinator running several major events through out the town.

Max Dunn – Committee Member. Max was formerly with Smart Living & f3 Design, a company that provides services in 3D Rendering, Accessible Design, Building Design, House Plans, Tiny House Construction. He now manages Australis Drinks Company in Maleny.

Rev Scott Kroeger – Committee Member. Scott is the pastor of the Maleny Presbyterian Church and serves with the Maleny Business Chaplaincy. He is Secretary of the Range Christian Leaders Network (RCLN), Secretary of the Maleny Neighbourhood Centre Wellbeing Committee, and Board member of the Local Community Chaplaincy for Maleny State School. He has served on the organising committee for the Maleny Christmas Street Festival and Maleny Carols by Candlelight. He now serves as Commerce representative and Convener of the that organising Committee. An avid motorcycle rider, Scott is a member of the Blackall Ranges Ulysses Club. Kay Ridge – Admin Support. Kay Ridge has been an integral member of the business sector since she moved to Maleny 22 years ago. Alongside her husband Richard, Kay and Richard owned and operated local furniture removal company Maleny Hired Hands for 16 years, Kay also ran a corporate office Maleny Corporate Centre in conjunction with managing Maleny Community Centre for 8 years. Kay has vast experience in logistics, shipping, storage, administration, EA, VA, PA and work-ing in the government sector at Qld Emergency Services as a Customer Liaison Office. Kay now runs Kay Ridge Social Media and Marketing and brings her experience of social media, sales and marketing to Maleny Commerce in the position of Administration.
