Guest Speakers: Paul Garcia & Tim O’Dowd – CCIQ (Energy Water Waste) EcoBiz
After 34 years of building relationships worldwide, Paul joined the CCIQ in Nov 2019 in the newly created role of Relationship Manager. The Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland is the peak body for all Chambers in Queensland. Paul now collaborates with over 114 Chambers of Commerce throughout Queensland and has a passion to see small businesses not just survive, but thrive through engagement with their local Chambers.
Tim currently works as the Assistant Program Manager for CCIQ’s ecoBiz program. For more than 2 years now, he’s been connecting business owners all across Queensland with expert sustainability consultants to ensure they have the right tools and advice to drastically cut their energy, water and waste costs
Guest Speaker: Scott Bruest (ASPIRE) Sunshine Coast Council
ASPIRE is a free online business to business tool for businesses with up to 100 staff who need to list unwanted waste streams and be connected to businesses who can use this input as reuse.
Developed by CSIRO and Data 61, ASPIRE connects potential matches for your waste based on your profile. Apart from the extensive multiple waste streams that be exchanged, traded or sold the ASPIRE platform, it has smart algorithms that assist connecting what people are looking for and who has been listing that kind of input. Being a digital platform, Sunshine Coast businesses registered on the platform can find a solution locally but are not geographically restrained and other councils and businesses in Queensland now coming on board to enable greater geographical and resource opportunities for an expanded marketplace and opportunities.
