Spencer Shaw – President. Spencer is an eco-Entrepreneur and co-founder of Brush Turkey Enterprises, a 24 year old business with a diverse portfolio of products and services including environmental education, native wholesale nursery, ecological restoration contracting, ecological restoration consultancy and retail nursery Forest Heart ecoNursery.

Spencer returns to the role as president of Maleny Commerce in 2022 after a few years break, having previously served 2 years as vice President and 4 years as President. He wants to bring to the role of President a view that “Community is a key word to doing business and we’ll be working to strengthen our diverse community relationships, promoting the value of the healthy environment we live in and of course you, our great business’s that are at the heart of the success story that is Maleny”.

Rev Scott Kroeger – Vice President. Scott is a retired Presbyterian minister of over 35 years and volunteers as our Community Chaplain with Maleny Business Chaplaincy. He owned and operated his own horse business “The Naked Hoof”, reclaiming lame horses to soundness.

Scott has been active with the Chamber for a number of years working on various sub-committees. He has served on the Chamber Executive for the last few years. He has also served on a number of local committees within Maleny. An avid motorcycle rider, Scott is a member of the Ulysses Club. An advocate for maintaining good business practices in sustainable ways, Scott’s passion is to foster cooperation with local businesses in keeping our small country town strong and healthy. Nicole Hilton – Secretary/Admin Support. Nicole is the business owner of Maleny Handmade Markets and NTH Events & PR, as well as Montville Chamber of Commerce Administration Officer/Secretary. Working part time in many areas (which she loves) allows her to contribute to our community on a verity of levels which is her passion.

As past president, Nicole developed some great initiatives such as the Maleny Gift Card and volunteers on the Gift Card subcommittee, as well as the Events subcommittee having a wealth of experience in events, PR and marketing. She enjoys working with such proactive volunteers that want to make a difference not only to our local businesses but our community in general. Her motto is “one person can have a good idea but many can make that idea great.

Paulette Steele – Treasurer. Paulette arrived in Maleny, and quickly immersed herself in the community. With a great fondness for Christmas festivities, she began with Maleny Commerce on the sub-committee for the Maleny Christmas Carnival.
Paulette is also currently President-Elect in the Rotary Club of Maleny, a Director with Smart Living Society Limited, and is involved with other local groups, particularly to do with the environment.
Paulette had a long career in fashion retail culminating in a senior executive buying role with one of Australia’s leading retailers, before moving into other areas such as recruitment and part-time flight instruction in light aircraft. These days, she runs her own successful online personal development business from home.

Karen Shaw – Committee Member. Karen is the proud to be the co-owner of Brush Turkey Enterprises. This family-run small business has environmental restoration at its core with a wholesale production native plant nursery, a retail nursery, community environmental education, consultancy and bush regeneration. Karen’s passion for environmental education is clear in her delivery of the Sunshine Coast Kids in Action Program, bat awareness education events and involvement in other groups and programs.
She has been a member of the Maleny Commerce committee in the past as secretary and is excited about being involved again with this dynamic group.

Anne Brown – Committee Member. Anne has lived in Maleny since 2007. She bought the iconic Rosetta Books the following year and traded for nearly 10 years.
She has been a member of the Chamber since owning Rosettas.
Now semi-retired and working part-time, she is still active member in the Chamber.
